The Government has revealed plans to alter the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act as a means to deal with a spate of radical environmental activists using their influence to unjustly force major mining operations to obey the law.
Industry Minister Ian MacFarlane has claimed that changes are necessary after recent mining projects have been delayed due to activists preventing major mining companies from “doing their civic duty and disregarding the laws of this nation so they can make a cheap buck.”
